LCC International University (former Lithuania Christian Fund College) is a nationally and internationally recognized liberal arts institution in the city of Klaipeda, Lithuania.

About

History

Established in 1991 by a joint venture of Lithuanian, Canadian and American foundations, LCC has distinguished itself in the region by offering a unique, future-oriented style of education and an interactive academic environment.

Education

LCC International University offers accredited Bachelors and Masters programs in social sciences and humanities. LCC is a liberal arts university. Therefore, each program includes multidisciplinary core curriculum courses which affirm students’ critical thinking and conflict transformation skills while challenging students within a multicultural perspective and Christian worldview.

Research

LCC is a teaching university. Thus, our primary aim is providing high-quality teaching to our students. However, this aim is not reachable without academic and applied research. Our multidisciplinary approach to research cuts across all departments matching the various talents we have at the university It is our aim to see our research translated into practical applications, changing lives and making real impact to local societies.

Since the year 2008, LCC organizes annual interdisciplinary academic conferences that are well attended by local and international researchers.

Services

Student services

Counseling services provide a confidential place for students to work through personal concerns and issues they may encounter during their time at LCC. A counselor at LCC International University is available by appointment to discuss any issues and help students find ways of dealing with the challenges they face. Counseling Services can offer workshops in areas of possible problems or healing areas to students.

Housing services

Living in University Housing isn’t just about a bed to sleep in and a place to store your stuff. The Residence Life & Housing at LCC International University offers amazing places to live and great places to learn. Students from over 20 different countries live in LCC’s residence halls, giving residents many opportunities to grow in their knowledge of new cultures and traditions. By living with 2-3 other people in a room, you will also be given many opportunities to learn how to respect and be tolerant of differences.

Library services

Balciunai Library serves as the learning and research center by providing a welcoming study place and a variety of resources, including research library with 22,000 English volumes, 15,000 volumes textbook collection, a number of periodicals, multimedia materials and access to internet based scholar resources. Integrated library system allows for easy searching of the holdings.

ICT services

The computer lab consists of 2 classrooms of 40 computer terminals with access to Microsoft Office Professional 2007 and the internet.

Student Life

Campus life

In August of 1999, LCC occupied its new campus property on Kretingos street in Klaipeda. In addition to the current facilities, a campus master plan calls for future construction of dormitories and additional academic space around the small lake.

Sports facilities

In order to ensure the holistic personal development of our students, Student Life Division runs specific sports programs and recreational activities. LCC Athletics & Recreation program is a home to LCC “Moose” basketball team, LCC “Kicks” football team, the fitness center and sports and recreational programming which include intramural volleyball and indoor hockey.

Student clubs

With support from Student Life Division, students have an opportunity to take their own initiative and participate in various activities. Every year more than 10 student organizations are active on campus that contribute to the co-curricular programming. Student Council oversees activities of all other student organizations and clubs.
