Faculty of Health and Social Care, School of Nursing and Midwifery

The School of Nursing & Midwifery at Robert Gordon University has built an outstanding reputation for producing patient focused, capable and highly employable graduates who have the skills and professionalism required to succeed.

Education

We have associated ourselves with various academic institutes, clinics and hospitals to ensure that our education is contemporary, evidence based and meets the needs of healthcare providers across the globe.

The learning platforms range from campus-based study sessions, to distance and online learning – popular with nurses who can fit their study around busy work and home life. Expert practitioners from practice also contribute to the students’ learning experience.

We offer a wide range of vocational courses, often directly informed and endorsed by those working in industry. Many have professional accreditation.

Research

Our key strength lies in providing high quality teaching from a supportive team of qualified academics and practitioners, thereby enabling our students to benefit from their research and clinical knowledge in a variety of settings.

Career

We produce high-calibre graduates who possess the skills that employers are looking for. The skills you will gain from a postgraduate qualification show that you’re able to study in-depth and undertake critical analysis. Both are viewed as desirable skills in the eyes of recruiters and future employers.

ICT services

The Clinical Skills Centre is equipped with state of the art digital media equipment (SMOTS) and a wide variety of mannequins and training models.

Campus life

The right course may be a major factor when choosing a university, but the social scene is just as important. This is the place where you'll make friends and professional contacts which can last for life.

Robert Gordon University's 'Masterplan' is a £120 million campus development project at our Garthdee campus which provides all of our students and staff with state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities.

The MSc Advanced Nursing Practice, MSc Advanced District Nursing, BSc Occupational Health Practice, BSc Public Health Nursing programmes are accredited by the Royal College of Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
