Rhode Island College

As a leading regional public college, Rhode Island College personalizes higher education of the finest quality for undergraduate and graduate students. We offer vibrant programs in arts and sciences, business and professional disciplines within a supportive, respectful and diverse community.

History

Rhode Island College is built upon a legacy vital not only to the state of Rhode Island but also to the development of modern education in this country. RIC came from humble origins, as an untested idea that was championed by a few truly visionary leaders.

Education

Rhode Island College offers more than 90 undergraduate and 30 graduate academic programs including a wide range of programs in management, education, nursing, and social work, as well as in the performing and fine arts.

Research

The Center for Research and Creative Activity (CRCA) was established with financial support from the Davis Educational Foundation to broaden participation of students and faculty in the high-impact practice of mentored undergraduate research and creative activity. The mission of CRCA is to increase student engagement toward greater student retention, persistence, and degree completion.

Career

Self-assessment is an exploration process through which a student examines his/her interests, skills, and values and how those connect with different career options. This process may include both individual sessions with a career counselor and use of an assessment instrument. It is an especially helpful process for students who are also trying to decide upon an academic major.
