History
1745 The Collegium Carolinum is established, a new type of educational institution between secondary school and university, where mathematical/technical subjects are taught alongside humanities and fine arts.

The Technical University of Braunschweig is a traditional technical university with a clear profile in research and teaching. It belongs to the TU9 grouping and is one of the TOP 9 universities in Germany in its core engineering subjects .

Student services
The Student Office is responsible for the management of student data. It is the central point of contact for issues ranging from applications, admissions and registration, to re-enrolment, and to transcripts and the termination of registration. It will also answer all questions relating to semester fees and tuition fees for long-term students. Many of the Student Office’s services are also available at the Student Advice Centre.
