The University of Western Sydney (UWS) began operation on 1st January 1989, under the terms of the University of Western Sydney Act, 1988 which had been passed by the New South Wales Parliament in December 1988. However, the predecessors of the University date back as far as 1891 with the establishment of the Hawkesbury Agricultural College.

Navigating around The College for the first time can be a bit overwhelming, especially with things like enrolment, choosing a timetable and working out where your classes are, so thankfully we have an excellent Student Services Team to help you. Located at Student Central, the friendly crew are willing to go above and beyond to ensure even the smallest queries have been answered.

Library services

  • All Library resources are provided for academic use only. Access is granted and bound by the IT acceptable use of resources policy.
  • You can browse the electronic journals provided by the library using the Journals A-Z list.

We understand people come to The College from all walks of life, and some struggle with personal obstacles such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and a range of hurdles that can prevent them from doing their best. Campus life

One of the best things about life on campus is there's always something happening. From table tennis comps, e-sports and Unigames, to one of many social events organised by the University or clubs (including free breakfasts!), you're bound to find something that's right for you.

Sports facilities

As a College student, you have full access to more than 180 clubs, sport teams, associations and facilities Western Sydney University has to offer, giving you the ultimate University experience before you even graduate from The College. Clubs include coffee appreciation, yoga and meditation, the journalism society, and a range of sports clubs from soccer to quidditch.
