History

The University Archives, established in 1964 by President Clifford C. Furnas, is the repository of the historically valuable records of the State University of New York at Buffalo and its predecessor, the University of Buffalo (1846-1962).

Education

UB offers the widest range of academic programs of any public institution in New York or New England, including 110 undergraduate degree options and 60 minors, and more than 300 graduate, professional and certificate degrees. You can also customize your studies through our many special or joint majors.

Research

UB’s thinking, research, creative activity and people are helping ADVANCE AND INFORM SOCIETY. Student services

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for and supports the multifaceted academic needs of the university community in the areas of grading, degree audit, academic advisement reports, student data, enrollment and degree verification, transcripts, central class scheduling, final exam scheduling, implementation of academic policies, records management, articulation and awarding of transfer credit and diplomas. 1Capen provides walk-in assistance for services relating to these areas. The Office of the Registrar along with 1Capen offers assistance to all students, staff, faculty, parents and the university community.

There are a number of affordable and comfortable hotels located near the University at Buffalo.

Library services

The University Libraries offer an outstanding array of information resources, technologies, services and people to support the academic and creative achievements of our students, faculty, staff and community members.

ICT services

The internet access is free when you live in UB’s official on-campus housing, including our residence halls and apartments. With Wi-Fi coverage in every room and common area, it’s easy to stay connected.

Medical services

Student Health Services provides high-quality medical services and patient education for all UB students. Our team of health care providers — including board-certified physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and medical support staff — offers primary care, preventative treatment and specialty services designed to meet the needs of our students.

Campus life

LIFE AT UB doesn’t just take place in the classroom. We have comfortable campus living, more than 300 student clubs and organizations, a Division I athletics program, concerts, world-renowned speakers and much more.

Sports facilities

UB boasts sixteen NCAA Division I athletic programs that compete in the Mid-American Conference. The UB Bulls play some of the top football programs in the nation.

UB has more than a dozen residence halls, along with five campus apartment communities.
