In May 1992, the Jaén University Campus Technical & Academic Committee was created, paving the way for the University of Jaén (UJA) to be officially founded on 1 July 1993 under Law 5/1993 from the Andalusian Parliament. A management committee, created on 7 September 1993, was responsible for building the University of Jaén from the bottom up.
Academic offer: 96 Degrees in the areas of Humanities, Education, Experimental Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Social Work and Engineering. Multi-language courses are designed in all the above areas for international students and the following degrees are taught entirely in English:
This institution has a long tradition of international exchange: more than 1,000 partner institutions in more than 60 countries of Europe, America, Asia and Oceania (over 1,000 incoming and 650 outcoming).
Moreover, around 200 international students are studying a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program in UJA. From 2016, UJA offers scholarships for excellent international students who wish to study a Bachelor or Master Degree at this University.
These scholarships cover up to 100% of the tuition fees for the whole degree besides a grant of €2,200 (BA Degree)/ €3,000 (MA Degree) per year and candidate.
