Regent's University London

Set in a quiet, leafy park in the heart of an exciting capital city, Regent’s University London delivers an exclusive, connected, one-of-a-kind student experience. With just 3,000 students on campus,it offers a highly personalised experience with small classes, regular one-to-one contact with tutors and tailored academic and pastoral support: you'll feel part of a supportive, tight-knit community.

History

Our campus was built in 1911 for Bedford College, the UK’s first higher education institution for women. In 2006, Regent's College was established on site, gaining degree-awarding powers in 2012 and university status in 2013. Regent’s University London has since gone from strength to strength, most recently embarking on a strategy that embraces its entrepreneurial, international student community.

Education

Regent’s small classes and personal attention gives you the freedom to explore your interests in a supportive and nurturing environment. In your first year, you’ll be assigned a personal tutor to provide academic guidance, as well as receiving regular tutorials and tailored careers advice.

You’ll get practical experiences that prepare you for the professional world. Our academics are well-connected with impressive industry links and opportunities for you to collaborate with influential leaders during your degree and beyond. You’ll take field trips in London, join industry events and guest lectures, attend masterclasses, study abroad (inbound and outbound) and work closely with peers from all over the world.

Research

Regent’s has a long-standing commitment to research to enhance the vitality of the University and continually strengthen our teaching. Areas of focus include pedagogy, creativity, leadership, transnational business, scholarship, entrepreneurship and finance.

We also offer the Regent's Working Papers Series as an opportunity for colleagues to highlight their work-in-progress and invite comments prior to publication. Staff have researched a wide variety of topics over the years – from the impact of COVID-19 to internet trolling, gender research, employability, race and brand evolution.

Career

Our students develop deep connections while at Regent’s – with each other, with academics, with successful alumni, through our entrepreneurial community and our partnerships with well-known global brands.

They all graduate with the skills and confidence to build global careers –launching new products and businesses, securing multi-million-dollar deals, joining government bodies, winning BAFTA nominations and featuring in the likes of Vogue, TIME Magazine and Forbes 30 Under 30. So much so, Regent’s has been named the UK university that develops the highest percentage of founders, with over 12% of graduates forming their own successful companies.

Student services

Our Student Support & Welfare Team offers a comprehensive range of information and specialist advice to help you with any matter – whether it is personal, practical or academic.

We understand that to do well at university, you’ll need different types of support at different times, so offer a personal approach.

We’ve recently partnered with International SOS, a world leader in medical and security advice services, meaning all students can access 24/7 medical and travel safety advice; details on the latest global COVID-19 travel restrictions; and five counselling sessions per incident, per year – available anywhere in the world and in your own language.

Housing services

Reid Hall, our on-campus accommodation, is located in the beautiful grounds of our Regent's Park campus, looking out over the gardens, lake and surrounding park. Living on campus allows you to socialise on campus while being only a short walk away from your classes, as well as the vibrant shops and nightlife of the city centre. Reid Hall has four floors, each a pantry and three communal bathrooms. Each room also includes a meal credit to be used in the University's dining outlets.

If you’d prefer to arrange your own accommodation, our dedicated team can help with advice on all aspects of the process.

Library services

Regent’s library is spread across two floors, with over 40,000 printed books, 60,000 e-books and 50 databases. Find a beautiful reading room and study area on the ground floor and a modern study space on the first floor – with private study rooms also available. It has Wi-Fi, PCs, power outlets and printers, plus a room with an adjustable working space and assistive software.

ICT services

We offer a wide range of IT services to both support and enhance your learning, on campus and online. IT labs are equipped with PC and Apple workstations, and resources and specialist packages such as free software and LinkedIn Learning. The IT service desk is available 24/7 for all your technology needs, from walk-in appointments to email and telephone support.

Medical services

Our Student Support & Welfare team can help you with all personal healthcare issues – from advice on registering with a GP to finding local healthcare services, like the nearby health centre in Marylebone, a short walk away. You’ll be given help to register during Welcome Week. Our partnership with International SOS also gives students free 24/7 access to medical advice and counselling sessions.

Campus life

Set within 11 acres of private grounds in royal Regent’s Park, with gated access and a 24/7 security presence, Regent’s offers one of London’s best campus experiences – with all classes taking place on the same site.

Facilities include a library, cafes, a bar, a restaurant and IT suites – with some students benefiting from access to trading rooms, photography suites, television studios, theatres, psychology labs and access to industry-standard online software.

Within walking distance of London’s amenities and landmarks, our unrivalled campus location means you can enjoy all that the capital has to offer – right on your doorstep.

Sports facilities

We encourage all students to be active and healthy and offer a range of fun and engaging activities to suit all tastes – whether you want to be part of a competitive team or you simply want to keep fit. Our competitive teams train throughout the week (working around your academic timetable) and compete in both the British University College Sport League (BUCS) and the London University Sports League (LUSL). Our polo teams also represent Regent’s at national tournaments.

If you’d just like to be more physically active, look out for our free Be Active sessions across campus (subject to availability) – open to everyone, offering the chance to meet new friends while improving your fitness.

Student clubs

Regent’s Student Union enhances student life with trips, activities and industry events taking place throughout the year – from high-profile speakers to our Grand Autumn Party, London bus tours, theatre trips and weekly student event nights. You can also join our sports teams (from football to polo) and as many societies as you like (from photography to human rights). If you can’t see a society that you’d like to join, create your own!
