History

Founded in 1891, Seattle University is a Jesuit Catholic university located on a beautiful campus of more than 50 acres in the dynamic heart of Seattle. Our diverse and driven population is made up of more than 7,200 students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs within eight schools and colleges.

Research

The Office of Institutional Research at Seattle University supports data informed decision making efforts by providing information about SU’s students, faculty and staff, and instructional activities to internal and external constituents. 

Career

The Career Engagement Office provides several online resources, available 24/7, to help you in your career exploration, discovery of experiential learning opportunities, job search, interview preparation, and more. 

Student services

Seattle University opened its three-story, 64,000 square-foot Student Center in the fall quarter of 2002. The building houses a variety of student services, meeting facilities, a conference center and the main campus cafeteria.

Housing services

Living on campus is an important part of a student's educational journey at Seattle University. In the heart of a thriving city, we are committed to providing cost-effective housing options as well as a safe and welcoming environment. 

We offer four residence halls, designed to help students make immediate connections to new friends with similar interests. Our apartment living communities are set aside for upper division students.

Library services

Librarians offer help with research, finding information, or using the library on weekdays (hours may vary). We also have a 24/7 service that provides library & research help via online chat, and dozens of research guides online.

ICT services

Our Informational Technology Services staff provide support to Seattle University students with all of their technology needs. All Seattle U students are provided with an SU account which is used to access university computers, email, and systems.

Medical services

Our Student Health Center offers on-campus healthcare at minimal cost for many of our students' health and wellness needs. 

All international students are enrolled in health insurance coverage through a University contract with an insurance provider.

Campus life

The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) is a student-centered, student-driven department dedicated to empowering students to explore leadership and contribute to the campus community. 

This office provides direction, support and advising for all of the University's clubs, student events and activities, and student government.

The CIS works in collaboration with the Division of Student Development and other campus partners to provide support for our diverse student body, avenues for community-building, and an inclusive environment.

Sports facilities

Located on 13th and Cherry, Seattle Universities recreation center features over 180,000 sq. ft. of recreational, fitness and athletic space.
