History
The first engineering degree granted in the entire state of Kansas was a degree in civil engineering awarded in 1873 to KU student Murray Harris. Harris was one of four members of the first graduating class at KU.'
Although KU already had an engineering degree program, the School of Engineering wasn't established until 1891.
Education
The 12 undergraduate, 19 Master's and 11 Doctorate degree programs the school offers let our students hone the technical and critical thinking skills they need to succeed.

Career
The KU Engineering Career Center's mission is to provide information, resources and opportunities to engineering and computing students so they may confidently pursue their desired career goals. This includes connecting students to potential employers and graduate / professional school programs.
We serve both students and employers alike by hosting our own bi-annual engineering & computing career fairs. The KU Engineering Career Center also conducts mock interviews, resume reviews, employer information sessions, on-campus interviews and more.
