Student services

The Office of Student Organizations creates and fosters leadership and involvement opportunities that enhance personal, interpersonal, and organizational development for Murray State University students.

Housing services

As of Fall 2012, Murray State had 2,831 students living on campus. Murray State was the first public university in the United States to adopt a successful campus-wide residential college program. The residential college structure, which took form on the campus in 1996, is based on similar, but much more established programs at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge in the United Kingdom as well as Yale University, Harvard College and Princeton University in the United States

Gives students access to a number of electronic resources. Databases covering a wide variety of disciplines. Access Services provides students with the ability to get resources that University Libraries don't have.

Medical services

Murray State University’s health services are provided by Primary Care Medical Center as of June 1, 2019.  Health Services  is located on the first floor of Wells Hall, facing the quad. A physician and staff will be on site during operating hours. Health services is available to faculty, staff and students. 

Campus life

The Murray State campus is a great place to be, from the family-like atmosphere of the campus dining facilities and 24-hour security of the Murray State Police Department.

Sports facilities

The Susan E. Bauernfeind Center is a 73,000 SQFT facility. 

  • It features 3 full-size basketball courts and 2 racquetball courts. Around the second level is a 1/11 mile indoor track with cardio machines such as treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and rowing machines. 
  • There are resistance training spaces, free weight areas and two aerobic studios. 
  • There is also a lounge area with couches, televisions, computers, a billiards table, and ping pong tables. 
  • Our pool area offers a 5 lane lap pool, leisure pool, whirlpool, vortex and a water bench. Both of our locker rooms have direct access to the swimming pool.

Student clubs

We have over 170 student organizations - from the Environmental Student Society and Random Act of Kindness to the Clay Target Club, from Greek organizations to pre-professional and honor societies.

Murray State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, specialist, and doctorate degrees.
