The history of Eastern Nazarene College began when several ministers and lay persons decided to establish a Christian collegiate institute in the city of Saratoga Springs, New York. The founders had a remarkably ambitious vision: in an age when most Christian educational institutions began as Bible colleges and missionary training schools, this was designed as an integrated preparatory academy.
For over 116 years, ENC has prepared students for lives of leadership and service through a liberal arts education.
The mission of Eastern Nazarene College is to serve God, the Church, and the World by providing a quality liberal arts education to students of all ages. Consistent with its Wesleyan heritage, ENC seeks to create and maintain an environment which awakens and fosters truth, righteousness, justice and holiness as made possible by God’s transforming grace through Jesus Christ.
The mission of the college is to assist and encourage college students and alumni in developing an awareness of God-given interests, gifts, talents, skills, and abilities, and to apply (develop) them in their major, work, and ministry/service opportunities.
Our mission is to provide excellent customer service and information to our students, the Eastern Nazarene College community, and all outside constituents, in order to achieve a clear and clean financial picture and enable paid in full status on all accounts.
College students work in the program as active participants in connection with course work and student teaching. For the college student, the school presents a rich opportunity to experience the complexities and rewards of working with young children. For the child, the center offers a child-centered, developmentally appropriate program designed to promote the growth of the whole child. The teachers, students, and college faculty seek to work closely with the families in the program and welcome parent participation. Families are our partners in the education process.
