Education
Eastern Connecticut State University is a residential campus of 5,300 students, with almost 4,300 full-time undergraduates. In addition to attracting students from 163 of Connecticut’s 169 towns, Eastern draws students from 29 other states and more than 20 other countries. Eastern offers students a strong liberal art foundation grounded in an array of applied learning opportunities, with 41 majors and 59 minors.
Research
Faculty research, scholarship, creative work, and community engagement inform teaching and learning, advance knowledge and enrich the liberal arts curriculum. The University is committed to serving the state of Connecticut and the nation by preparing its students for their future personal, professional and public roles, as leaders in both their communities and professional fields.
Career
Center for Internships and Career Development. Our office provides advising and resources to actively engage students in the lifelong process of career development. Our mission is to encourage students to:
- Explore the process of self-evaluation and career exploration by utilizing our 4-year career development plan;
- Network and engage with employers through career programs and career fairs;
- Participate in pre-professional and experiential learning opportunities, such as internships, co-ops, joining clubs and organizations and taking part in volunteer activities;
- Engage in office programs to acquire integrative skills connected to goal setting, life planning and the internship and job search process.

Student services
Welcome to the Academic Services Center better known as the “ASC.” This Center is composed of many different student support services offices, whose purpose it is to assist Eastern students in realizing their highest level of achievement possible. The ASC includes The Academic Advising Center, the Mathematics Achievement Center (The “MAC”), the Writing Center, Subject Tutoring and student Learning Strategies and, finally, the Summer Transition at Eastern Program/Contract Admissions Program (STEP/CAP), an alternate admissions opportunity providing access and first-year support to qualified students.

The Office of Housing and Residential Life invites you to experience on-campus living! Convenience, commitment to academics, campus and community involvement, friendships, social activities and educational programming are just a few reasons why Eastern students enjoy living on campus.
Eastern Connecticut State University Facilities Management & Planning provides the support services necessary for a clean, well maintained environment in which to learn, work and play. Our goal is to provide quality service to our customers while improving and enhancing the physical aspects of our university.
Library services
The J. Eugene Smith Library supports and enriches the university's teaching, learning, research, and outreach objectives by providing services and resources that foster intellectual curiosity and integrity, promote critical inquiry, and encourage awareness of the world beyond the campus.
ICT services
As part of Eastern’s Information Technology Services department, Media Services provides a broad variety of media-related services to the Eastern community. These services are defined in two primary areas; Multimedia Production and Media Technology Support.
Medical services
The mission of the Student Health Service is to promote the lifelong health and well-being of Eastern’s students through the provision of accessible, comprehensive, caring and cost-effective primary health care and educational outreach.
Campus life
The campus is located in the heart of eastern Connecticut, just 2 hours from New York City and 1.5 hours from Boston.
Eastern’s inclusive residential campus, outstanding faculty, emphasis on teaching excellence and exceptional facilities raise students’ aspirations and cultivate engagement, inquiry, integrity and social responsibility. In the traditional arts and sciences, as well as in pre-professional programs that are grounded in the liberal arts, Eastern students apply theory in practical settings.
Sports facilities
By placing its highest priority on the overall quality of the liberal arts educational experience, Eastern Connecticut State University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals & Recreation seeks to integrate its programs and goals with academic and developmental objectives and to assure the assimilation of student-athletes into the general student body.
Student clubs
The Office of Student Activities provides social and educational activities outside the classroom which enhance learning and personal development. Through engagement, students participate in leadership development opportunities that empower them to become socially responsible leaders.
From student-led initiatives in the numerous student organizations on campus to various campus-wide events and traditions, the Student Activities staff are here to enhance the student experience at Eastern.
