History
We realize study programs in economic and social areas for nearly 3,000 students since 1996.
Education
VSEM, as an independent and free higher education institution, realizes educational programmes on an internationally competitive level and pursues systematic quality improvements of human resources by supporting the development of educational programmes in the area of business economics and human resources. VSEM offers education on the basis of comprehensive and long-term study programmes offered in part-time / full-time study mode, as an alternative to the public system of education.
Research
Research activities are carried out by VŠEM main workplace as the University of Economics and Management fulfilled the requirements for Research organizations according to the Czech law (Act No. 130/2002 Sb.). VŠEM runs two research centrums (Centre for Economic studies, Centre for Innovation studies).

Career
Student counseling VŠEM offers individual consultation of experts in the areas of professional, psychological - pedagogical, financial and legal advice. Student counseling is implemented through individual consultations, either through written contact or in person at the premises of VŠEM.

Housing services
Students can use the opportunity of accommodation with high standard, wide range of services and good transport availability with MHD (VŠEM does not offer accommodation within colleges).
- DC Residence is a unique project, offering accommodation for students in a renovated modern building in a quiet area with all services needed for a quality university study and the subsequent relaxation.
- Experience with the operation of student accommodation abroad are transferred into the local environment, where it is offered a new European standard of student housing.

Library services
College of Economics and Management offers to all students services of two libraries (VSEM Library, CERGE-EI Library).
The VSEM Library offers access to a wide range of resources to support teaching, learning and research at VSEM. Our stock consists of some books, periodicals, standards, theses and dissertations, and other materials.
ICT services
The College offers computer rooms in the campus to students. For access to computer rooms it is necessary to use a student card. All students have free access to the Internet and electronic mail.
Medical services
The Czech Republic normally recognizes all health insurances valid within EU.
Students from EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are entitled to the provision of necessary and urgent health care free of charge.
Students are strongly recommended to have supplementary travel insurance from their country.
Student clubs
Because of growing number of foreign students studying at University of Economics and Management (VŠEM), an International Student Club VŠEM (ISC VŠEM) was establish. ISC VŠEM works on the basis of volunteering. Students VŠEM - "Buddies" - are responsible for their foreign colleagues individually in their free time. Their main responsibility toward foreign students is to ease their studies at VŠEM.
Study programs are accredited in national (Ministry of Education Youth and Sports) and international level (ACBSP). Students have the opportunity to educate themselves on more than 40 partner universities abroad, thanks to the international cooperation.
