The Seneca of today was a long time coming. When the College first opened its doors in 1967, classes were offered at a number of sites including a former Woolworth store and a renovated factory. Ground was turned in 1968 to create Seneca’s first permanent location on Finch Avenue East at Highway 404.
Seneca offers more than an education. With campuses throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Seneca’s size and diversity give students the advantage of partnerships with industry leaders, the latest in hands-on computer technology, a variety of class sizes, and full-time, part-time and continuing education options. Education should be flexible and accessible, so Seneca also employs various methods of teaching – from in-class lectures and online learning to co-op and field placements – in programs related to applied arts, business, financial services and technology.
Seneca Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ARIE) supports the applied research, innovation and entrepreneurship activities at Seneca. We are here to help enable the innovation economy and community well-being by providing practical solutions to real-world challenges.
As one of Canada’s most recognized colleges with one of the largest student populations, Seneca offers employers a variety of on-campus opportunities to meet, prospect, interview or hire qualified job-ready students and graduates.
The Student Conduct Office was created to support our shared values of honesty, integrity and mutual respect for safety, security and personal dignity as stated in Seneca’s Student Code of Conduct. It also serves as a dispute resolution service for students who have exhausted other avenues to answer a grievance or concern.
Living on campus gives you the full college experience and can help ease your transition to Canada. Seneca's apartment-style residence buildings at Newnham and King campuses are accessible, fully equipped and will help you make new friends.
As a Seneca student, you can choose between the two off-campus accommodation options – Homestay and Room in a House. Depending on your meal requirements, you may pick either of the accommodation options.
