Lynchburg College was founded as Virginia Christian College in 1903 by Dr. Josephus Hopwood, a pioneer in Christian coeducation. From its earliest days, Lynchburg College has maintained an association with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), since it was through the support of Disciples of Christ ministers and businessmen that the College was established.

Student services

Our support offices are all about you, all the time. Just don’t get a big head about it.

Housing services

Lynchburg College will accept and consider requests for reasonable accommodations in College housing at any time. The individual making the request for accommodation should complete and provide the Disability Accommodations Request Form for College Housing as soon as possible before moving into College housing.

However, if the request for accommodation is made fewer than 60 days before the individual intends to move into College Housing, Lynchburg College cannot guarantee that it will be able to meet the individual’s accommodation needs during the first semester or term of occupancy.

Library services

  • You’ll find the academic resources you need in the Knight-Capron Library. Library staff can help with your research assignments and offer instruction in best practices for finding and evaluating information.
  • You can borrow a book from the Library’s collection, or from another institution through the interlibrary loan system. 

ICT services

Information Technology and Resources provides comprehensive technology services to Lynchburg College. These services, which support all college owned technology, include user support, training, programming and web page development.

Medical services

The health and counseling centers provide quality, confidential, and compassionate care and education to LC students.
