Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1950, Mercy College became a four-year college offering programs leading to the baccalaureate degree in 1961. The College was accredited by the Middle States Association’s Commission on Higher Education in 1968.

Career and Professional Development at Mercy College teaches career readiness with the goal of each student developing lifelong career management skills. The Office of Student Accounts is responsible for student billing and revenue collection. Student Accounts oversees monthly payment plans, discounts, deferred tuition payments, special programs, refunds, collection of past due student accounts and all departmental transactions.

Mercy College has experienced record breaking enrollment creating a Residential Life community that is vibrant and in high demand. Mercy College offers different housing accommodation options that allow students to thrive within the residential community.
With the construction of our new building all residents have access to more gathering and study areas, a student commons that includes a Starbucks Cafe and convenience store, as well as a 5,000 square foot fitness center. In addition, we have a newly constructed pedestrian quad and exterior gathering areas!
The Mercy College libraries serve students, faculty, staff and alumni of the College. The main library at the Dobbs Ferry Campus holds the majority of collections and supplements those at three branch campus libraries (Bronx, Manhattan and Yorktown Heights) through a timely shipping and delivery system.

The goal of the Office of Campus Safety is to protect the Mercy College community and to reduce campus crime. Being responsible for your own personal safety and property and the reporting of suspicious activity is the best way to accomplish this. Campus Safety officers are available 24 hours a day to assist you.
The Dobbs Ferry campus overlooks the Hudson River and features five modern, air-conditioned buildings. Numerous parking lots that are both safe and conveniently located. Hot and cold meals are available on campus.
The College's athletic facilities are located at the Dobbs Ferry campus, and include five outdoor tennis courts, a swimming pool, a soccer/baseball field and a running track.
