Highline College

Since 1961, community members have counted on Highline College to meet their educational needs close to home. As our area has changed over the years, so have our classes and programs. Today you will find comprehensive community college programs as well as applied bachelor’s degrees. Come to Highline to discover why we are still our community’s college after more than 55 years.

History

Highline College is nationally and internationally recognized as a premier community college, a reputation earned through the development of an institutional culture that values innovation, globalization of curriculum and community participation. Highline is one of 34 community and technical colleges in Washington state.

Education

At Highline, you’ll find five types of degrees and two types of certificates.

Each has its own requirements and applications. Within these degree and certificate options, you may choose general or specific areas of study or disciplines. These more specific choices also have their own requirements and applications.

Research

The mission of the Office of Institutional Research is to promote the effective use of data to inform institutional decision-making and to support efforts to increase equity, student learning and educational achievement.

Career

Career Coach is designed to help you find a good career by providing the most current local data on wages, employment, job postings, and associated education and training.

Student services

The Associated Students of Highline College (ASHC) is the student government or advocacy organization for Highline students which represents students’ interests and concerns to the college administration, faculty, staff, and greater community.

Housing services

New, beautiful apartments are available at Highline College. The 2- and 4-bedroom units are fully furnished and available only to students attending Highline, CWU-Des Moines and Kaplan.

  • Private Bedroom furnished with twin extra-long bed, closet, desk, and desk chair
  • Full Kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher
  • Common area furniture includes sofa, chair, coffee table, and counter top stools

ICT services

Information Technology Services is a customer-focused organization that strives to provide secure, reliable, efficient, and accessible technology solutions for Highline College students, faculty, and staff.

Campus life

Explore our tree-filled 80-acre site while enjoying beautiful mountain and water views.

As a student here, you will find a wide range of ways to get to know others and follow your interests. Highline students are actively engaged in leadership and student communities. We offer trainings and employment in campus extracurricular programs, arts and student support services. The Center for Leadership and Service offers more than 40 clubs to choose from, or you can start your own. See Current Students for information and a full list of resources.

Sports facilities

The Wellness Center is a 3,000 square foot space containing cardio, strength, and flexibility training areas. Cardio equipment includes; treadmills, elliptical trainers, and stationary bikes. Strength equipment includes Cybex variable resistance machines, free weights, and dumbbells.

The Highline College Athletics Department is a member of the Northwest Athletics Conference and consists of nine sports: Men’s and Women’s Basketball; Men’s and Women’s Soccer; Men’s Wrestling; Women’s Volleyball; Women’s Tennis; Women’s Fastpitch; and Women’s Golf. 

Student clubs

Student Clubs and Organizations are an essential part of Highline College’s community, the Club Team consist of five Community Leadership Consultants (CLCs) who encourage and support Highline Students make their ideas a reality.

Highline College is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the secretary of the United States Department of Education.
