Divine Mercy University

Divine Mercy University (DMU) is a Catholic graduate school of psychology and counseling, founded in 1999 as the Institute for the Psychological Sciences.

History

In 1999, a group of psychologists and academicians saw the immense need for an institution of higher education that could bring psychology into harmony with the truth and wisdom of the Catholic-Christian vision of the human person, a life of virtue and moral values.

Education

The University offers Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctoral (Psy.D.) degrees in Clinical Psychology, a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Psychology and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Counseling.

Student services

The mission of student services is to contribute to the achievement of the teaching and learning outcomes and support of student success in meeting the goals of the educational programs consistent with the institution’s mission and identity and appropriate for the institution’s graduate commuter and distance education students.

To accomplish this mission, the institution provides a variety of support services and programs to students at all locations.  These resources and services include writing resources, academic advising, mental health resources, disability services, campus ministry, financial aid and scholarships, online classroom support, and information technology.

Housing services

Students and their guests are completely responsible for arranging their own lodging/hotel accommodations during graduation festivities. If you are having difficulty locating accommodations, please feel free to reach out to us, and we can help find the best fit for you. Contact us at graduation@divinemercy.edu.

Library services

The Mary S. Thelen Library is a modern library facility that is dedicated to supporting the study, learning, teaching, research, and training needs of DMU students, faculty, and staff. For more information about the vision, mission and biography of Mary S. Thelen, view here.

Medical services

While it is not the DMU-SOC policy or a part of the CMHC program curricula to require professional counseling, we recognize that personal issues can impede functioning as a counselor in every domain. A high level of personal and professional development occurs while in the DMU program.
