Dún Laoghaire, Institute of Art, Design + Technology

Ireland’s only institute of art, design and technology with a specific focus on the creative cultural and technological sectors, IADT is alive with ideas, innovation and entrepreneurial activity. Explore what’s on offer, and we hope you’ll decide that IADT is the perfect place for your third level adventure.

History

IADT as we now know it came into being in 2012, when three existing Schools were amalgamated to become two Faculties: the Faculty of Enterprise + Humanities, and the Faculty of Film, Art + Creative Technologies. However, our unique story is deeply rooted in the area and dates back well over fifty years!

Education

From full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to accredited part time courses, IADT has earned the reputation as Ireland’s leading creative cultural and technological institute by consistently providing innovative, practical and relevant courses.

Research

Cutting-edge research significantly enhances the creative and entrepreneurial environment at IADT.  We work with diverse stakeholders and collaborators in the public and private sectors, at local, national and global level.  IADT engages in scholarly, applied and practice-based research.

Career

  • The IADT Careers Centre is here to help and support students and graduates in their career planning and research. As Careers Officer I am always happy to meet with students individually or in class groups.
  • You can make an appointment to discuss your career plans, to have a vocational assessment done, or to look for specific information relating to your discipline or area of interest.

Library services

IADT Library offers a wide range of seamless, high-quality integrated information services. We are committed to supporting students, researchers and staff on their journey of learning, teaching and discovery. Drop by and see what we have to offer.

Medical services

A comprehensive medical and nursing service is open to all full-time registered students. A Doctor is available on a part-time basis and a Nurse is available 5 days per week during the academic year. The service is envisaged as an addition to the student's own family doctor or specialist medical service.
