About

History

The roots of Lethbridge College, like the teaching and applied research that happen here every day, are tied to innovation and aspiration. Starting with rented class space at a downtown high school and growing into the bustling campus on the south end of the city today, the college has consistently existed and expanded in response to the needs of the community it serves, both in the immediate area and around the world.

Education

Learning and Development coordinates and implements professional development for staff and faculty. Professional Development (PD) includes formal and informal methods that assist all staff in engaging in a reflective practice to ensure growth.

Research

Fundamental to the college’s vision of leading and transforming education in Alberta, our centre is a catalyst for economic growth, sustainability and social development in the region.

Our integrated strategy brings together community organizations, researchers and students to collaborate on projects that use new or existing knowledge to solve real-world challenges with immediate practical applications. Project outcomes often lead to innovative products and services that benefit our economy and society.

Services

Library services

Since our establishment in 1957, the Buchanan Library has been supporting students and staff with their study and research needs. As the hub of learning at Lethbridge College, the library is the place to find scholarly resources, work on individual or group projects, access a wealth of information in various formats and find helpful advice to assist you with your learning needs.

Student Life

Sports facilities

Established in 2015, the KODI’s are not your average athletics awards night. Our ESPYS style production celebrates the accomplishments of our athletic teams in a fun, high energy awards show format.

The KODI’s are totally interactive too. Kodiaks fans get to vote for their favourite plays and top moments of the season, with the winners announced at the awards show. Each team also announces its Pillar Award, Outstanding Player and Newcomer of the Year award winners.

Accreditation

The Massage Program at Lethbridge College has been granted Preliminary Accreditation, the first step in the CMTCA accreditation process. Following a site visit to verify compliance with the standards, CMTCA will issue a final accreditation decision.
