History
The history of Shenyang University dates back to Fengtian Industrial School and Xinmin Public School established in 1906, more than 100 years ago.
It obtained the right tograntmaster’s degree in 2003, received an “A” in the evaluation of undergraduate teaching of the Ministry of Education in 2007.
Education
The university has 18 teaching departments, 10 master’s degree granting points of first-academic disciplines, and 9 types of professional master’s degree granting. With 67 majors of undergraduate education covering 11 disciplines of philosophy, economy, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, management and art, with more than 23 thousand students.

Campus life
The campus covers an area of 570 thousand m2, with a building area of 450 thousand m2. The instruments for teaching and scientific research are worth 120 million yuan in total.

Cultural facilities on campus also reflect the culturalattractionand the long history of the university. Sports facilities
Sport is one of the major amusements of campus life. Besides the Gymnasium of SYU, one of the venues for the 12thNational Games, the university also has standard football courts, volleyball courts, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, gyms and badminton courts on both the north and south campuses. There are numerous fitness facilities around the campus for teachers and students to conduct sport activities.
