History

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) was the first faculty of Australia’s first university. Building on its 170-year history, FASS will be at the heart of ensuring the University of Sydney is ready to succeed in the decades ahead. As Australia’s oldest and most comprehensive faculty of its kind, we are one of the world’s leading centres for teaching and research in the humanities and social sciences.
