The Faculty of Science is Denmark's largest research environment within the fields of science and life sciences. Research at the faculty rests on two pillars: Strong basic research and application-oriented research.
Some of the things that our international students emphasise about student life at SCIENCE are the green and park-like campus areas with the horticultural gardens and their central location in Copenhagen. Others note the Greenhouse Café at Frederiksberg Campus and the popular Friday bar or the modern libraries and laboratories. And yet others point to the many student associations or the unique Danish academic culture which encompasses direct and open interaction between students and teachers - in and out of class.
Student sport clubs cover a wide range of sports, including badminton, basketball, football, handball and volleyball, as well as gymnastics, folk dance and swimming. As students it is possible to sign up for sports activities at discounted rates.
The student associations who represent all students at SCIENCE are also very active and encourage active participation in their activities and clubs. Student associations also play an important role in student politics. Traditionally, students have a lot of influence and most boards and committees at the Faculty include student representatives.
