Manchester Metropolitan University

History

A leading, modern university with a history of education since 1824.

Education

Everybody who comes to Manchester Met is different, and our courses are designed to reflect that. We offer a range of options to suit individual needs, and make it easier for you to study for an undergraduate degree with us. These include foundation years and options to study part-time or through distance learning if your circumstances mean that traditional university study might not work for you.

Research

High-quality research makes an impact on the world around us. Find out about the scale, depth and ambition of our work.

Our research has led to the creation of biomedical devices that have saved thousands of lives. It’s helped Government’s to reduce carbon emissions. It has changed the way that every young person is educated. It has protected human rights, addressed ageing, dementia and loneliness, and helped to make links between the arts, culture, wellbeing and the economy.

Student services

At Manchester Met, we have a student support officer based in each faculty. This officer is available throughout the year to provide advice and guidance on any aspect of University life, including finding your way around campus and Manchester, presentation skills, exam tips and dealing with stress.

Housing services

Artisan Heights is a modern block of self-catering flats close to city centre, with a variety of social space. Each flat contains between five and ten en-suite study bedrooms with larger beds, a kitchen and open plan lounge/dining area.

Library services

The Library is open for essential users and study spaces must be booked in advance. Access to specialist spaces and technical equipment needs to be pre-booked via the Technical Services webpage.

Medical services

The Inclusion Service is mainly operating remotely, however individual pre-booked appointments on campus are available upon request to respond to any quick and urgent queries.

Your Inclusion Adviser will be your main point of contact, providing information about support that you can access in the university, as well as support from external agencies.

Campus life

Our campus is a friendly, vibrant and fun place to be. We will make sure that you have everything you need to get to lectures on time, know where to find all the great facilities and services, and learn about how you can get involved with student life.

Sports facilities

We have several fantastic sports facilities right on our doorstep, offering a great range of health and fitness activities with exclusive membership deals for students and members of staff.
