The expansion of business enterprises in the United States during the second half of the nineteenth century created unprecedented job growth. Bryant founders Henry Bryant and Henry Stratton recognized that workers, particularly Civil War veterans, interested in new job opportunities would need a business education. The two men founded Bryant and Stratton National Business College in 1863.
Bryant's integration of academic programs offered through the College of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences is what differentiates the University, its students, and its alumni.

Bryant has 17 progressive residence halls, from traditional first-year housing, to suites, to more than 100 townhouse-style apartments for upperclass students. Campus housing is available to students for all four years.
Health education and on-site medical care are provided by a physician, nurse practitioners, and professional health educators.
The health services program emphasizes prevention of health problems and offers direct health services on campus combined with referrals to hospitals and specialists. We strive to support students in developing a healthy lifestyle, in order to promote success inside and outside of the classroom.
