Helsinki has four seasons, with cold winters and warm summers. Temperatures in winter are high for a northern country, with averages in January and February of around -5 °C (23 °F). The average high temperature in summer is around 19 to 22 °C (66 to 72 °F) and it is also the season with most thunderstorms.
