It came into being through the dedicated efforts of visionaries who foresaw the need for an additional university in Israel. In the 1930s, the idea was promoted by then mayor of Tel Aviv, Meir Dizengoff, with whose encouragement two post-secondary education facilities were opened during the British Mandate period: The Biological-Pedagogical Institute and the School of Law and Economics.
TAU is one of Israel's most important research centers, engaged in more than 5,000 innovative projects in classic disciplines and in cutting-edge fields from bioinformatics to nanotechnology. That's why more than 150 of the world's leading academic and corporate institutions regularly conduct joint programs on campus.
Every student/visiting researcher is required to be covered by Israeli health insurance while studying in Israel. While most international programs* include health insurance as part of their tuition fees, research students/ fellows, students on individual tracks and students in TAU’s programs are not covered and are required to obtain their own Israeli health insurance.

Open 361 days of the year, 7 days a week and 20 hours per day, the Tel Aviv University Sports Complex serves over 2 million users annually. Located on the northwest corner of campus, the administration, management and operation of the Complex is divided between three bodies: the Elite Sports Center Company; the Sports, Culture and Recreation Club; and the Unit for Sports and Physical Education.
Tel Aviv University is accredited by the Israeli Ministry of Education and the Council for Higher Education. In the United States, Tel Aviv University participates with the Department of Education’s FFEL Program.

My BSc Nursing provided 2,400+ hours of clinical immersion at WA municipal hospital's Emergency and medical wards, where I managed critically ill patients, led night- shift resuscitation teams and practiced under severe resource constraints. This built my resilience, clinical judgment, and teamwork. However, it revealed gaps in advanced simulation training and evidence-based protocols, which TAU’s MSc in Clinical Nursing will equip me to address and implement in Ghana
I really like how organized and clear the study materials were. The lesson were easy to follow and help me understand better. My overall study experience was smooth and i felt supported.
What I liked most about my bachelor’s studies in architecture was the opportunity to combine creativity with technical knowledge. The design studios and projects helped me develop my design thinking, spatial understanding, and teamwork skills. I believe the program could be improved by adding more exposure to professional practice and international perspectives in architecture. Overall, my studies were a very enriching experience that strengthened both my creative abilities and my professional aspirations.
