The Joe Crowley Student Union opened on November 16, 2007 and since has been a student-centered building that serves as the living room of campus and complements the academic experience through cultural, educational, social and recreational programs. It is the community center of the University where students are the number one priority. We collaborate with others to enhance the intellectual program of the university and to make activities a cooperative factor with education. Our community is home to 25 organizations. These organizations are governed by student-led boards called councils. At the University of Nevada, Reno, we have two different councils that provide governance, accountability, educational opportunities, and structure for our fraternities and sororities, including the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and Multicultural Greek Council (MGC).

Accreditation applies to all academic units of the university and their degree programs and courses and requires a review of all aspects of the university's mission.

As an online student I have found the curriculum to be well thought out and useful, the professors have been approachable and available, and the online system in which you complete your coursework has been intuitive and easy to navigate.
Great location for a blend of city life and nature. My classes were well organized and easy to follow. The university offers many resources for students along with strong housing options and active student life initiatives.
