History
On Feb. 8, 1886 — almost 30 years before Arizona was granted statehood — the Territorial Normal School, Arizona’s first higher education institution, opened its doors to 33 students in a four-classroom building in Tempe.

Student services
As the #1 public university chosen by international students, we serve international students across ASU’s five campuses and location in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. We work to facilitate the success of our more than 10,000 international students and scholars during their time in the United States.
