History

New England College in New Hampshire is an accredited, private, non-profit college founded in 1946. Originally established to serve the needs of servicemen and women attending college on the GI Bill after World War II, today NEC delivers programs of academic excellence to a diverse student body from all over the world.

Education

New England College offers more than 60 associate degree and bachelor’s degree programs, over 20 master’s degree programs, and a doctoral program with multiple tracks.

Career

The Office of Career and Life Planning (CLP) helps students

  • Develop career and life plans consistent with their skills, interests, values, and personal characteristics
  • Acquire skills by engaging in internships, and service activities
  • Demonstrate the results of their experiences in and out of the classroom and effectively present themselves
  • Make connections in their career and further their studies in graduate school

Student services

Student Senate – comprised of students from all different aspects of campus – comes together once a week to make large decisions on behalf of the student body. The club corresponds with faculty, staff, and administration on behalf of student concerns and desires, and in doing that they have become the recognized voice of the students. Senate also receives funding to spend on capital expense items chosen by the student body. Although the organization is made up of an executive board and senators, any student is encouraged to attend the meetings and voice their opinions.

Housing services

NEC provides on-campus housing primarily for full-time undergraduate students. If housing is available, consideration will be given to graduate students enrolling for a 15-week term and undergraduate students who are enrolled part-time. At this time, NEC does not provide family housing.

Library services

  • Danforth Library provides a creative, innovative, and supportive learning environment both physically and virtually.
  • The library provides students, faculty, staff and the broader community access to a wide range of resources as well as to policies, services and procedures to support the teaching, learning and research experience.

Medical services

Our friendly team at the Wellness Center believes quality care, education, and outreach build healthy communities. We’re all about promoting individual wellness and independence and believe that each student has different social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and physical necessities.

Campus life

  • New Hampshire is a playground. In Henniker, you’re minutes from snow sports at Pats Peak, you have access to rivers and trails, right on campus, and there is plenty of space to just get away from it all. Pair that with the best education and you’ll find your home at NEC.
  • Our campus is nestled in the countryside of central New Hampshire. We offer all the modern conveniences, and students find plenty to do—from outdoor activities like our ropes course and free winter sports at nearby Pats Peak to events like theatre productions and a wide variety of student activities.
  • Henniker is only about 15 minutes from the New Hampshire capital of Concord and about an hour from Boston. New York City and Montreal, Canada, are about four hours from each campus.
