The university traces its roots to the 1640s when colonial clergymen led an effort to establish a local college to preserve the tradition of European liberal education in the New World.

The Yale Office of Career Strategy offers career advising, professional school advising, employment and internship opportunities, and career development resources. This office works with Yale students and alumni of Yale College, Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and postdoctoral scholars to clarify career aspirations, identify employment and educational opportunities, and offer advising and support at every stage of career development.
Student services
The International Center (IC) is home to the Office of International Students & Scholars at Yale (OISS) and a center for campus life. We hope you will visit often to take advantage of our many programs and resources.
Housing services
The Yale Housing office is responsible for providing graduate housing options on and around the Yale campus. Our office manages a limited number of on-campus, Yale owned and operated dormitories and apartments, for Graduate and Professional Students only.
Library services
Search the international collections of the Yale University Library, one of the world’s leading research libraries which includes around 12.8 million volumes and information in all media, ranging from ancient papyri to early printed books to electronic databases.
ICT services
The Yale NetID which is provided to most Yale students and scholars by their school or department, allows access to the campus network and many University systems. Information Technology Services (ITS) at Yale can answer questions relating to NetIDs or Yale network connectivity.

Student clubs
