Housing services

For many students, coming to university means the first time living away from home. Having your own space can be a great experience and living in university accommodation gives you the comfort of knowing you are in a safe, well maintained environment. You are also in the perfect place to make friends for life and have great fun. We offer a range of room types across four locations, all of which are a short walk from campus and the city centre. They are great value – utility bills, internet access and contents insurance are all included in the cost.

Library services

Our recently refurbished, multi award-winning library provides a mix of learning environments to meet different student needs. The library is also stocked with over 126,000 books, and provides access to over 32,000 electronic journal titles and upwards of 175,000 e-books, which can be accessed online from anywhere.

Campus life

  • The University is conveniently located on a city centre campus, with all of its buildings within a quarter of a mile of each other. Shops, recreational facilities and the main bus and train stations are a short walk away.
  • The teaching building and student centre are in the Bell Street complex, grouped around the University's award-winning library. There's always a busy atmosphere around the Abertay campus, as students come and go to lectures, meet with staff, study for exams, and attend tutorials and seminars.

Sports facilities

At Abertay, sport and physical activity is as much a part of university life as attending lectures and tutorials. Although a small university, Abertay offers a fantastic range of clubs from the traditional sports such as rugby and football to the more diverse sports such as triathlon and dance. In fact, Abertay has more sports clubs per student than any other Scottish university, and are in the top 5 in the UK. The on-campus gym facilities offer a brand new range of cardio and weight machines as well as a full schedule of exercise classes.

Student clubs

Abertay Students’ Association is the vibrant hub of student representation and engagement in all aspects of the student experience at Abertay. They offer support in times of need, represent student views and opinions, ensure the best possible student experience and encourage and support social engagement in societies, voluntary opportunities and other fun activities.
