The idea to open a university in Kufstein resulted from the needs of the regional economy. 97 students enrolled into the first two available courses, Facility Management and International Business & Management, in October 1997.
1,136 students were already enrolled at the university by November 2007 and in 2025 the number of students grew to 2,400.
The economic and technical degree programs of the University of Applied Sciences FH Kufstein Tirol are international, practical and always up-to-date. All students gain valuable experience abroad – during a full semester at one of the 250 partner universities worldwide as a full-time bachelor student, or during an intensive week abroad as a part-time or full-time master student. The close collaboration with regional and global companies ensures a strong practical focus. 350 lecturers support the 2,400 students personally and individually.

The campus is located on the green, generous park area that lies adjacent to the city center. This Data Science and Artificial Intelligence course completely transformed the way I approach problems. The classes are fairly easy to deal with but some deadlines for the projects are really tight. The society in and around the campus is good. A lot of events hosted by school, student organizations and practical projects.
