History

Our history as a former military college has given Widener a strong foundation, and has created a lasting set of values that are reflected in the university's mission statement today.

Education

As a first-choice university, Widener is a dynamic, inclusive academic community, transforming students into scholars, leaders, and globally engaged citizens.

These values are a guiding force for the entire campus community and are infused into the curriculum through opportunities like life-changing study abroad experiences, hands-on internships or co-ops, and the development of strong leadership skills.

Research

Here, you'll have direct access to emerging ideas, innovations, scholarship, and research that are shaping the fields you're preparing to enter. The result: an inside perspective on your future profession.

Our professors are respected leaders in their fields, sitting on industry boards, publishing research, and setting standards for professional practice. They are working on the leading edge of shifts and evolutions that will determine the future of your profession.

Student services

The Division of Student Affairs is dedicated to the holistic development of students at Widener University and works to inspire students to accomplish their educational goals and become responsible, productive and civically engaged citizens in a global community.

We integrate services and programs to promote student leadership, character development, and a sense of community that contributes to overall personal development.

Housing services

In our residence halls and dining facilities, we seek to build fun, comfortable, and supportive environments to live, learn, and grow.

We know that the college experience is about more than just academic study and career preparation – though that's super important! College is also about being away from home and family (maybe for the first time), and forging new relationships – the kind that last a lifetime.

You will spend a lot of time in our residence halls and dining facilities with your second family of roommates, classmates, teammates, and friends. That's why it's our goal to make these places and spaces feel like your second home.

Library services

As a student (including distance learners and on-campus learners), faculty, staff, or community member, you have access to over 100 research databases, 8,000 electronic journal titles, and 170,000 ebooks. In addition, the library holds thousands of books, physical journals and DVDs in our collection.

ICT services

The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) provides 24/7/365 support for students, faculty and staff by calling 610-499-1047.

Medical services

In order to support an individual’s achievement of optimal health and wellness, Widener University Student Health Services operates under a holistic philosophy which promotes a healthy mind, body and spirit.

Campus life

At the crossroads of innovation, preparation, and I-95, Widener University is situated just 20 minutes from downtown Philadelphia on a 110-acre campus that’s brimming with character and beauty.
