The Engineering Institute of Technology has emerged from its founding organisation, IDC Technologies, which is an international provider of practical, technical training. Since its conception in 1991, five hundred thousand engineers, technicians and technologists have been trained globally.
The Engineering Institute of Technology is registered and accredited to offer both degree and vocational (diploma and certificate) programs. EIT is authorized by the Australian Government Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency as a Higher Education Provider.
The finest engineering lecturers, with extensive real engineering experience in industry, are drawn from around the world. The learning is delivered to students through a blend of synchronous and asynchronous, online technologies, which includes live lectures and remote laboratories. EIT students have access to the online EIT eLibrary containing over 160 technical manuals published by IDC Technologies covering a range of disciplines including mechanical, electrical, civil and chemical engineering as well as instrumentation, automation and process control and data communications and networking.

EIT has 2 main campus buildings, one located in East Perth and one located in West Perth. The actual campus buildings are approximately 3.5km apart, so many of our staff members enjoy cycling or walking between the 2 locations, but reliable public transport is also available. Both campus locations are serviced by the free CAT (Central Area Transit) bus service, which runs multiple times per hour. EIT's East Perth campus is fully equipped for all students, and the campus is housed in a modern building which is full of natural light which makes it the ideal place to study.EIT's East Perth campus has the following facilities and services available to students:
