Research
Old Dominion University has nationally-known research strengths in coastal resilience, modeling and simulation, bioelectrics, cybersecurity, and port logistics and maritime engineering. More then half our faculty are involved in funded research projects sponsored by federal agencies and industry, creating research opportunities for both undergraduates and graduate students. ODU is a key academic research partner for the Thomas Jefferson National Laboratory and NASA-Langley Research Center. At ODU, we innovate locally to transform globally.

Housing services
Moving out of the house onto campus is a big step, but Housing & Residence Life is fully prepared to make your transition as smooth as possible. ODU offers resident students a variety of living options, from traditional style residence halls to your very own on-campus apartment. Living on campus definitely has its perks - from impetuous pick up games of football on the quad to quickly being able to pop in for a snack from the P.O.D. Market between classes. Every room is equipped with heating and air conditioning, desks, beds, dressers, cable TV and wifi, with laundry facilities in each building-all for you to feel right at home at ODU.

Sports facilities
The Old Dominion University sport club program provides opportunities for students to play in non-varsity sports while developing skills in leadership, administration, organization and fundraising.The ODU Sport Club program currently has 18 active clubs serving more than 700 students.
Old Dominion University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, education specialist, and doctoral degrees.
