History
With a history spanning more than 175 years, Rush has been part of the Chicago landscape longer than any other health care institution. It began with Rush Medical College, the first medical school in the city and one of the earliest in the Midwest.
Education
Located on the RUMC campus in the heart of the Illinois Medical District, Rush University offers more than 40 degree and certificate programs across medicine, nursing, allied health and biomedical research; more than 60 postgraduate training programs for medical residents and fellows; and continuing education options.
Research
With a deep tradition of scientific discovery, Rush University offers chances to participate in research that advances the understanding of disease and contributes to a global improvement of public health.
The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Accreditation is an Academic Affairs unit which conducts ongoing evaluation and research projects on student performance and institutional effectiveness, as well oversees the university assessment plan.Career

Library services
The Library of Rush University Medical Center and the McCormick Educational Technology Center, or METC, offer a range of resources and services to support faculty, students and staff. The library contains spaces for collaborative work and individual study. From home or on campus, you can access our databases, e-journals and e-books.
