IE is a Madrid-based institution with Undergraduate, Graduate and Executive education programs in a full-time, part-time and blended format. IE’s aim is to contribute a new model of higher education, leveraging on the best academic traditions yet providing a fresh approach in the faculty, our learning methodologies and program content.

IE has its roots in IE Business School, which was founded in 1973 in the heart of Madrid’s financial district. Those early years saw the launch of IE Business School’s MBA and Executive MBA programs. As Spain opened its doors to the world, IE served as a platform for debate on business challenges on an international level. In 1983 the School’s International MBA was born.

Recognized as one of the world’s top centers of learning, IE runs undergraduate, graduate and executive education programs at IE Business School, IE Law School, IE School of Architecture and Design, IE School of Human Sciences and Technology, and IE School of International Relations.

The work of IE’s academic and research staff has resulted in many published research projects each year, in the form of books, articles in academic and professional journals, case studies and working papers. IE’s efforts towards knowledge creation have also been presented at numerous lectures, conferences and symposiums across the world. In many cases, research results are approached in cooperation with experts from other national and international universities and institutions. IE’s research experience adds to the development of excellence in both graduate and postgraduate study programs.

IE Clubs are the umbrella structure under which we organize events worldwide, grouping activities according to functional area, sector, geographic region, or special interest.
