UNB Fredericton

In many ways, campus is its own self-contained community. All of the amenities you could need are on site, including a bank, a bookstore, restaurants, a convenience store, three bars, a clothing store, a jewelry store and salon.

The Cellar Pub and Grill, located in the basement of the Student Union Building (SUB) offers live entertainment, and you can enjoy a game of pool, great food and drink.

The College Hill Social Club is also in the SUB. This is a private, non-profit student club with great prices, great music, and friendly staff.

The College Hill Social Club is also located in the SUB. A private, non-profit student club, it offers great music and a friendly staff with a more high energy, club-like setting. The Social Club hosts events like trivia, karaoke and the like during earlier hours, and becomes a dance bar at night.

The Grad House is also located on campus right behind the book store. With an extremely laid back atmosphere, framed poetry on the walls, and a great selection of food and drink, this is the ideal place to go and relax.

The City of Fredericton

The City of Fredericton is full of fun things to do. A beautiful Cultural Capital of Canada, the city is host to a ton of festivals and special events such as the annual Harvest Jazz and Blues festival, public art shows, and cultural events celebrating everything from Asian to French heritage.

If you take the short 15 minute walk from campus to downtown, you will find bustling sidewalk cafes, patios where you can grab a beer, nightly entertainment in and around the tannery on King Street, unique local boutiques and galleries.

Fredericton is naturally beautiful city situated alongside the Saint John River. Stretching along the river is a 5 km long pathway system called the Green, which is connected to the other 60 km of walking/running paths that wind throughout the city. The capital also boasts the leafy, path-filled Odell Park for all the runners out there.

For those who like to buy organic vegetables and other local products, check out the Boyce Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. You can even get your breakfast there, complete with fresh squeezed orange juice. The market is also a great place to buy gifts and other treats.
