When it first opened its doors to students in 1995, a competence center for scientific specialization was created that focused on the pressing challenges of our times, and whose courses of study are continuously evolving.
Danube University Krems is the university for continuing education. Its courses are specifically oriented toward the needs of working professionals. More than 200 exclusive master's programs, short programs and seminars guarantee practice-oriented and specialized continuing education.

The International Office is seeking implementation of the academic mobility; therefore, assistance is proposed to students and staff in matters such as applying for scholarships, Visa, Insurance, etc.
In addition, consultation is offered to International students throughout the university and if needed through promotion projects of the EU Educational programs such as Lifelong Learning Program, also programs of international cooperation (TEMPUS and ERASMUS MUNDUS) as well as other funding programs, which aim to enhance international cooperation.
The public, scientific library may be used by students as well as by external users.
The book stock depends on the studies and education programs of the Campus Krems.
We enlarge our book collection currently and offer a lot of special exhibitions in up-to-date research andinterest areas.
The IT Unit offers central IT-Services for students and is available as a contact in case of technical problems. Wireless LAN (also with an eduroam account) is available at the Campus, as are freely accessible work and surf stations for students. At the time of registration every student receives his/her own e-mail address and various accounts for the University's network and services.
For elite universities throughout the world, the Campus is a byword for, and a focus of, student life.
Since October 2005 Danube University Krems is also a campus university. Spanning an area of 34,000 square meters, the campus is utilized jointly by IMC Fachhochschule Krems (a polytechnic institution), the Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences, the Austrian Film Gallery, and other institutions.
It is equipped with very modern teaching and research facilities, comfortable accommodations, a varied range of food services, and an arthouse cinema.
With 9,000 students and more than 600 staff members, Campus Krems offers the ideal environment for learning, research and living.
Sports and physical fitness is an excellent means of achieving an enduring balance between one's professional and personal life. For this reason, Danube University Krems founded the service department 'University Sports and Health' in November 2002. Here we developed a special campus sports program for students and staff members of Danube University Krems and the IMC Krems.
According to Austrian law, public universities are not subject to any obligations concerning accreditation. Nevertheless, Danube University Krems requests accreditation for many of its courses by international agencies.
