The Department of Housing and Residence Life at Southern Miss offers a convenient and safe place for students to live while making the most of their social and academic lives. The department is made up of 14 residence halls, 10 sorority houses and 9 fraternity houses, for an overall on-campus population of more than 3,000 students
The Gulf Coast Library in Long Beach and Gunter Library in Ocean Springs serve The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast campus.Cook Library, located on the Hattiesburg campus, contains the principal collections of books, periodicals, microforms, government documents, and other materials which directly support the research and instructional programs at all levels.
Cook Library provides access to 148 internet-connected computers. Those computers are accessible to faculty, staff and students. They will remain available as long as the library is open. You will have to use your USM ID card to access the building and your CampusID credentials to log in to the computers.
Developing HEALTHY students and communities involves an unwavering focus on physical and mental health as well as risk and crisis management. Our goal is to energize all members of the campus community to learn about and adopt healthy lifestyles.
We provide on- and off-campus adventures, intramural competitions, physical fitness resources, and even dietary advice to facilitate student wellbeing. We provide clinical and counseling services as well as numerous individual and group exercise options.
