For more than 50 years, Kennesaw State University has been known for its entrepreneurial spirit and sense of community. Offering campuses in Marietta and Kennesaw, the university is located just north of Atlanta.

On January 6, 2015, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia approved the consolidation of Kennesaw State and Southern Polytechnic State University.


As Georgia’s third-largest university and one of the fifty largest public universities in the country, Kennesaw State offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degrees, including an increasing number of doctoral programs.

Kennesaw State University offers high-quality and productive undergraduate, graduate, continuing education, and co-curricular programs. These include learning opportunities in architecture, the arts, business, computing, education, engineering and engineering technology, health and human services, honors experiences, humanities and social sciences, interdisciplinary studies, leadership development, the natural and physical sciences, study abroad, and other related disciplines.


The university has seen rapid rise in external funding for basic research, from $4.3 million in 2006 to $51 million over the past five years, leading to new knowledge and discoveries by faculty and hands-on opportunities for students.


The Career Services Center shares in the mission of the University by educating and facilitating the career development of students and alumni, in preparation for the ever-changing work environment.Through strategic engagement with internal and external partners, we provide access to services, programs, and experiences that develop competent and competitive professionals who will contribute to local and global communities.


Student services

Incoming first-year students can get connected to campus through the Center for Student Leadership, learning communities, and free academic support services like the SMART Center. First-year seminars are designed specifically for new students starting their college experience, and there are global education opportunities for students in their first year of study.

Housing services

Kennesaw state offers several on-campus housing options. All of our housing communities provide fully furnished rooms, individual contracts, all-inclusive rates, and high-speed Wi-Fi. All communities are in close proximity of anywhere you want to go on campus. Housing and residence life personnel offer support 24/7 and strive to make the on-campus housing experience memorable and meaningful.

Library services

GALILEO (GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online) is Georgia’s award-winning virtual library that offers access to thousands of full-text magazines, journals, encyclopedias, and electronic books to every Georgia citizen.

GALILEO stores and organizes databases. Each database stores and organizes journals either on a single or on multiple subjects. Journals are where articles are located.

Internet is provided by KSU Housing L3Net.

Medical services

Student Health Services provides comprehensive primary care on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campus. Our clinical team is comprised of board certified physicians supported by experienced nurse practitioners.

The Counseling and Psychological Services Office serves as a confidential source where concerns can be discussed with a counselor in a private setting. .

Campus life

Owl Life is the web-based organizations and events platform used to access all 300 Registered Student Organizations, explore various on-campus departments' services, request KSU football tickets, voice your opinion in campus wide votes & discover events to enhance your student experience at KSU.

Kennesaw State University Student Media (KSUSM) is home to KSU’s student-produced media outlets, which provide news, information, and entertainment to the campus and hands-on learning opportunities for students.

Sports facilities

The Student Recreation and Activities Center houses the Department of Sports and Recreation and the Center for Health Promotion and Wellness.Club Sports at KSU are designed "for the students; by the students." Teams compete at home and away against other universities from around the country.

Assisted by the staff of the Department of Sports and Recreation, students are challenged to build their leadership, communication, decision making, organizational, problem solving, and team building skills. The actual success and strength of each club is dependent on effective leadership of the officers and the degree of involvement of its club members.

Student clubs

The Kennesaw State University Alumni Association is governed by a 17-member board of directors that serve the initiatives of the University and represent the perspectives of a diverse alumni community.The Southern Polytechnic State University Alumni Association is governed by a 19-member board of directors that represent the perspectives of a diverse alumni community.Since chartering February 5, 2000, the Black Alumni Society (BAS) works to inform, involve and serve alumni as it promotes Kennesaw State University.Officially launched in April 2012, Women’s Council is driven by the alumnae of Kennesaw State through its focus on leadership development, volunteerism and support of the University.


Kennesaw State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's, master's, specialist and doctoral degrees.
