History
1964 – year Trent was founded .Heritage Peterborough was first organized May 11, 1984 in the Board Room of Peterborough and Kawartha Tourist and Convention Bureau. Their aim was to encourage wide interest, research and awareness of 150 years of historical growth of the city and county.

Student services
Summer Orientation for New Students is a day-long event offered by Student Accessibility Services (SAS) at Trent. First-year students with disabilities and their parents are invited to join our staff for an all-you-need-to-know info session about SAS, what to expect when they arrive in September, and supports on campus.
Housing services
Located at Catharine Parr Traill College, Trent University Housing Services has beautiful, self-contained one and two bedroom apartments available for rent to Trent Graduate Students. Our apartments feature:

Homeschool Swim and Gym
- Spaces are still available for our unique Homeschool Swim and Gym program. Contact us for more information.
- The Athletics Centre can accommodate Private and Semi-Private Swim Lessons at any point within a swim session. We offer a variety of lesson formats that suit an individual's swim background, schedule and iinterests.
- It is always a good idea to review the Athletics Centre Pool Rules before joining us for a swim. Do not hesiate to ask a lifeguard for clarification on any of the rules listed.
Student clubs
Close to 100 to choose from, including a student-driven co-operative café, Trent Radio, the Trent Film Society, the Trent Fashion Show, the Peterborough Coalition Against Poverty, Trent Meal Exchange, Trent International Students’ Association and more.

Trent university
Trent has a really friendly and supportive vibe, which makes it easy to settle in and feel like part of a community. The smaller class sizes definitely help�you actually get to know your professors and classmates, which makes learning more engaging. A lot of the programs encourage you to think outside the box and connect ideas across different subjects, which I really appreciated. The Peterborough campus is honestly beautiful, especially with the river running through it. It�s such a peaceful place to study or just hang out between classes. The Durham campus is smaller but has a more city feel if that�s what you prefer. Like any school, it�s not perfect. Sometimes it�s hard to get into the electives you want, especially in later years, and a few buildings could use some upgrades. But overall, the support systems�like academic advising and mental health resources�are helpful and easy to access. Trent is a great place if you�re looking for a more personal university experience where you�re not just a number. It�s helped me grow a lot, both academically and personally.
A Supportive for Aspiring Software Engineers
As an aspiring software engineering student, Trent University offers a uniquely supportive and interdisciplinary environment. While it's not a traditional tech powerhouse, its smaller class sizes allow for more personalized learning and closer interaction with professors. The university provides a solid foundation in computer science and encourages hands-on learning, research participation, and collaboration. However, those seeking a deeply tech-focused, industry-driven curriculum may find larger institutions better suited. Still, for students who value mentorship, a strong academic base, and a well-rounded university experience, Trent is a great place to start.
