History
- In November 1960 the Board of Governors and Senate adopted blue and gold as the Laurentian team colours, rejecting the student preference for copper-red and nickel-grey, a more regionally appropriate but less eye-appealing choice.

Research
- The mandate of Office of Research Services (ORS) is to support researchers with all aspects of their research activities.
- This mandate encompasses a broad suite of services which includes assisting researchers in every step of the pre and post research grant funding process, grant funding administration, knowledge mobilization, human participants research ethics, animal use protocols, and intellectual property management and technology transfer.
Career
- The Centre is the central provider of career and employment (permanent/summer/ part-time) support services for undergraduate, graduate students and alumni from all disciplines.
- The Centre help students develop lifelong career management skills through a comprehensive range of accessible services to support and empower students in making informed decisions about their career and employment goals. The Centre also assists employers in recruiting students from the university.
Student services
- As the hub for international student services and programs, Laurentian International’s staff will answer questions, make recommendations, and help students to navigate the processes and protocols required for international study in Canada.
- They can also fill you in on the numerous opportunities for Laurentian students to study abroad and gain valuable international experience while earning credits.
Housing services

Library services
- You will find your textbooks and school supplies, plus everything from pens to school bags, binders and official Laurentian gear, even cough drops and chewing gum.
- The bookstore is operated by Follett, experts in postsecondary education merchandising. They also custom order textbooks to your specifications, provide a book rental service, and offer online shopping.
ICT services
- The Tech-Hub “Computer Store” is wholly-owned and operated by Laurentian University. We supply computer equipment to students, faculty, staff, departments and Colleges.
- Managed by the IT department, the Tech-Hub “computer Store” is conveniently located in the University Class Room Building just across from the entrance to the Class Room. Feel free to drop by during our hours of operation.
Medical services
- Health Services at Laurentian University offers primary healthcare, health promotion and protection, disease and injury prevention advice, emotional counselling and medical care.
- Registered nurses and nurse practitioners are on staff during regular office hours, part time physicians are available by appointment and urgent cases are also accepted.

A very nice experience
I was enrolled in LU last September in 2024, pursuing my MBA degree for a two-year program. I have received strong academic support here. I really like how logical and structured my project management professor is. And I can openly talk about my business ideas and marketing plans with my marketing professor, which is super helpful. Overall, it�s been a great experience so far! The library has ample study spaces and cozy private rooms that make studying really productive. The gym is one of my go-to places � it�s well-equipped, and I�ve had so many energizing mornings there. What�s even more amazing is that the campus includes Lake Laurentian and a scenic three-hour hiking trail � perfect for soaking in nature and recharging. While the campus has many great facilities, the food choices are fairly limited � aside from the main cafeteria, there�s only a Tim Hortons and a Subway. I also wish there were more opportunities to get involved in student clubs or campus activities, as it�s been a bit hard to find information about them.

Would make different choices
Laurentian has had many problems throughout the years. I have had to change my program more than once due to program cuts. However, the teachers I had were amazing himsn beings and are the only reason I went there.
