Saint Mary's traces its earliest beginnings to 1802 when the Reverend Edmund Burke, later Bishop Burke, taught young men at the Glebe House, on the corner of Spring Garden Road and Barrington Street. The boys’ school grew first into a college and then into a university, never wavering in its commitment to education and community service.

The Student Health Centre is your family clinic when you’re away from home. As a university clinic, we understand how an illness or injury can impact your education. We treat illness and injuries quickly, so that your studies don’t suffer. Plus, alumni are eligible for services for up to six months after graduation. International students may be seen for an extended period of time.

The Sport Clubs program at Saint Mary's University is designed to provide additional opportunities for individuals interested in a specific sport to develop and improve their skills, by participating recreationally or competitively in league play on and off campus. Sport Clubs are voluntary, non-profit, student-led organizations. Members assume the leadership and financial responsibilities of club activities and are required to adhere to Department of Athletics & Recreation and University guidelines and policies.

Based on my experience at my university.I believe that cooperative university of Kenya is well coordinated in terms of admitting students.It encourages students to be self driven and it also gives students a break at least once a week for every course.It is majorly a business and computing schools ,with a little bit of cooperative development courses.My review on the professors,some are nice(especially mine).Based on some people's opinions they have harsh professors and some have professors and lecturers with don't care attitudes.Based on class attendances they have tried balancing online and Physical classes.Online is majorly done when they have commitments elsewhere
This university really stands out for its personalized learning, even if it's not always top-ranked. The lecturers are very supportive and pay close attention to each student. They even create easy-to-understand notes specific to what you're learning. There are many different courses, frequent bootcamps, and hackathons, and lecturers are always happy to help with your projects. The campus has lots of green spaces and spread-out buildings, which means nice walks between classes. The library is excellent with many books and past papers, and the online library is just as good. We use an app called MyLoft, which is great because it organizes everything, helping you find research papers and articles from many sources outside the university. On campus, you also get free access to Kenyan newspapers and free Wi-Fi everywhere. Social life is also good, thanks to the student center, or STC, as we call it. It has recreational things like PlayStation and a pool table. There's also affordable food on campus at MESS (I'm not sure where the name comes from!). For example, rice and beans cost only KSH 38, which is a fantastic deal. You can also find slightly better but still affordable food outside the school. For instance, you can get pilau, a cabbage and carrot salad, beef stew, and half an avocado for KSH 125, or KSH 100 without avocado – a great deal for the quality and quantity. Fries are also just KSH 100. The school is quite secluded, right next to a somewhat busy road, which actually adds to the quiet academic vibe. Being by the road means transport to and from school is always easy, and there's a small town nearby for students who prefer to live off-campus.
I appreciated the practical and interactive classes, and the professors were very supportive, making learning enjoyable. I would like to see more student activities and leadership opportunities to further enhance the experience. I encourage the university to continue expanding mentorship and leadership programs for students."
