History
It started simply, as great things often do. But what began in 1876 as a school of ministry training for just seven students has emerged as a world-class Christian liberal arts institution. Student services
Tutoring - After the form is completed and returned, you will typically be assigned to a tutor within 24-48 hours. Tutoring is a semester-long commitment; students will meet with their assigned tutor through the last week of class.
Housing services
You’ve worked hard to get here, now make this place your own. Set up your new life in one of Calvin’s seven residence halls. Whether you’re taking part in a floor Super Smash Bros. tournament or attending dorm worship, your dorm is where you’ll build new friendships and find opportunities to lead. Bond with your floor mates during Calvin’s legendary Chaos Day. Serve as an activity coordinator on your floor. Tutor local kids through your hall’s community partnership. And don’t forget to save time for late-night conversations that will probably change your life.

Hekman Library: With a collection of 1.7 million at your fingertips and an excellent staff of librarians eager to help, you'll be set for any research paper that comes your way.
Medical services
Calvin’s on-campus health services office is a full-service, primary care facility staffed by full-time doctors and medical professionals. Health Services can help if you get the flu, need an immunization, or hurt your ankle playing wiffle ball. We’ll be there if and when you need help managing allergies, dietary needs, ADHD, and more.

Campus life
Most halls are divided into two wings, one for males and one for females. You’ll live in a dorm room with one roommate, and share a bathroom with two people who live on the other side of the suite. Every room comes furnished with stackable furniture that can be arranged in many ways to create space for studying, sleeping, and placing extra furniture like a couch.

Calvin offers all the tools you need to stay active and healthy while you're here. We have great fitness options, one-on-one personal training, and outstanding facilities. Become a regular in Calvin’s 10,000 square-foot fitness center. Do some laps on the indoor track or in the aquatic center. Join a group fitness class to work out with peers. Head outside and find well-groomed athletic fields, an 8k cross-country course, a dozen tennis courts, and miles of walking paths. Interested in playing intramural sports, climbing a world-class rock wall, or borrowing backpacking supplies? It’s all right here on campus!
