History
In 1925, barnstormer John Paul Riddle met entrepreneur T. Higbee Embry, and together, they formed the Embry-Riddle Company to teach the adventurous to fly. This partnership was the beginning of a vision that has produced more than 160,000 alumni who drive innovation and keep the aerospace and related industries running safely and productively.

Embry-Riddle offers 100+ degree programs, spanning aviation, business, computers and technology, engineering, security, intelligence and safety and space.
Research
At Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, our faculty is comprised of skilled and experienced professionals, many of whom are still working in the industry. They challenge students to collaborate and take part in world-class research projects, creating a learning atmosphere that responds to the demands of today’s employers by teaching key concepts that students can carry forward into their careers.

Student services
Our services provide a variety of resources to help students succeed academically:
- Tutoring - At Embry-Riddle, students have access to free peer tutoring for general education courses during their first two years — at the Academic Advancement Center (Daytona Beach), the Tutoring Center (Prescott), and online via Tutor.com.
- Advising - Academic advisers help students make informed choices as they develop their plans of study and pursue individual goals.
- Student Accessibility Services (SAS) - Embry‑Riddle is committed to creating an accessible community, regardless of ability. SAS grants accommodations for equal access to qualifying students with disabilities who request them. Contact SAS early for accommodations.
Housing services
Living on campus is an exciting opportunity for Embry-Riddle students. The residence halls provide an environment that supports academics with a genuine community feel. The Housing and Residence Life staff provide programs that create a living and learning environment that encourages academic achievement and assists students in their growth outside the classroom.
Each residence hall is staffed with a Resident Assistant who supports students and builds community. Living on campus will keep you connected to the University and involved with new friends.
Library services
In Prescott’s Hazy Library and Daytona Beach’s Hunt Library, students have access to a wide array of books to enhance their learning and provide entertainment. Whether it be finding textbooks to borrow among the shelves or obtaining library assistance in locating an affordable option from an external store, Embry‑Riddle's librarians are willing and happy to help!
Medical services
Embry-Riddle’s Health and Wellness Services allow students to maintain optimum physical and emotional health through the provision of quality, accessible, comprehensive, and cost-effective health care. The Wellness Center also promotes healthy behavior and lifestyle choices through ongoing educational outreach and programming.
Campus life
Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach Campus spans 185 acres of innovation and energy, just minutes from the beach and the legendary Daytona International Speedway. The Prescott Campus combines world-class academics with an unbeatable setting in Arizona’s Bradshaw Mountains, just a short drive from the Grand Canyon and Phoenix. Embry-Riddle’s Worldwide Campus is built for flexibility, making it ideal for working professionals, active-duty military and anyone balancing education with a busy life. Our highly ranked online programs let you learn from anywhere, on your schedule.
Sports facilities
Embry‑Riddle Athletics Complex on the Daytona Beach Campus houses the Eagles’ home fields/courts. The ERAU Athletics teams also have access to additional practice facilities, including a multipurpose turf field and softball fields, a running trail and four Bermuda grass fields for intercollegiate and intramural activities. The athletics facilities on the Prescott Campus include the fitness center, gymnasiums, varsity soccer field and track, and recreation fields for both intercollegiate and intramural sports. Just north of these sits the outdoor swimming pool and courts for racquetball, tennis and sand volleyball.
Student clubs
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University provides a comprehensive support system for clubs and organizations that promote student achievement.Joining one of these many groups is a great way for students to become active within the University and enhance personal growth. More than 100 organizations supported by the Office of Student Activities provide students with opportunities to explore unique interests and develop leadership skills.
Accreditation
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University — including the Daytona Beach Campus, the Prescott Campus and the Worldwide Campus — is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award degrees at the associate, baccalaureate, master’s and doctorate levels.

Overenrolled yet beautiful campus
Great university that has a lot available to students! Beautiful campus and the staff in my degree program (Communication) is amazing! But there are not enough resources (spots in classes, parking spots, etc.) for students because they are over accepting.
