History
In 1925, barnstormer John Paul Riddle met entrepreneur T. Higbee Embry, and together, they formed the Embry-Riddle Company to teach the adventurous to fly. This partnership was the beginning of a vision that has produced more than 137,000 alumni who drive innovation and keep the aerospace and related industries running safely and productively.

Our seven primary fields of study cover an array of aviation-related and non-aviation-related industries.
Research
At Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University our faculty are known worldwide for being leaders in the science, skills and business of the world of aviation and aerospace. And now, more of our faculty members are involved in research than ever before, supported by external funding from either industry or government agencies such as the National Science Foundation, NASA and the FAA.

Student services
Our services provide a variety of resources to help students succeed academically:
- Tutoring - Tutors are available across academic disciplines. The Prescott campus provides free peer tutoring in most of our subjects.
- Advising - Academic advisers help students make informed choices as they develop their plans of study and pursue individual goals.
- Disability Services - Providing reasonable accommodations to those students qualifying for services who request assistance, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
- Upward Bound - Assists local high school students and helps them better prepare themselves for college.
Housing services
Living on campus is an exciting opportunity for Embry-Riddle students. The residence halls provide an environment that supports academics with a genuine community feel. The Housing and Residence Life staff provides programs that create a living and learning environment that encourages academic achievement and assists students in their growth outside the classroom.
Each residence hall is staffed with a Resident Assistant who supports students and builds community. Living on campus will keep you connected to the University and involved with new friends.
Library services
The Prescott Campus Bookstore in managed by Follett Higher Education Group and is your best source for the course materials your professor requires for your class. We offer many cost saving options for textbooks including used, rental and digital options. You will also find the supplies you will need for class, including notebooks, engineering pads, pens and pencils, binders, flight supplies.
Medical services
The mission of the Wellness Center is to maintain optimum physical and emotional health of the ERAU student body through the provision of quality, accessible, comprehensive, and cost-effective health care. The Wellness Center also promotes healthy behavior and lifestyle choices through ongoing educational outreach and programming.
Campus life
Our campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Prescott, Arizona, feature a traditional residential experience, complete with classrooms and labs, dorms and clubs, sporting events, and performances.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s 185-acre eastern campus is located in Daytona Beach, Florida, home to NASCAR’s Daytona 500 and “The World’s Most Famous Beach.” With year-round mild temperatures and more than 229 days of sunshine a year, it’s a top vacation destination and an ideal place to live, study, and fly. The campus serves a diverse student body of approximately 4,500 undergrads and 500 graduate students from 50 states and nearly 100 countries.
Sports facilities
The athletics facilities area takes up the western part of campus and includes the fitness center, gymnasiums, varsity soccer field and track, and recreation fields for both intercollegiate and intramural sports. Just north of these sits the outdoor swimming pool and courts for racquetball, tennis, and sand volleyball.
Student clubs
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott provides a comprehensive support system for clubs and organizations that promote student achievement.Joining one of these many groups is a great way for students to become active within the University and enhance personal growth. More than 100 organizations supported by the Office of Student Activities provide students with opportunities to explore unique interests and develop leadership skills.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University — including the Daytona Beach Campus, the Prescott Campus, and the Worldwide Campus — is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award degrees at the associate, baccalaureate, masters and doctorate levels.
