The University of Memphis is the flagship institution of the Tennessee Board of Regents System. Founded in 1912, it is recognized nationally for its academic, research and athletic programs. Today, the U of M educates more than 21,000 students, and it awards more than 4,000 bachelor, master, doctoral and professional degrees annually. The University of Memphis offers 17 bachelor’s degree in more than 250 areas of study, masters degrees in over 55 subjects and doctoral degrees in 23 disciplines. It also offers a specialist degree in education and a Juris Doctor (law degree). Home to the largest honors program in the state, it is also ranked in the Top Ten for student internships by U.S. News & World Report. The University of Memphis employs approximately 2,500 employees including 930 full-time faculties. It is comprised of eleven schools – Cecil C. The Fogelman College holds both business and accounting accreditation from AACSB International, an honor earned by less than 5% of business schools world-wide, and is the only AACSB school in the Memphis metropolitan area. The College has maintained continuous accreditation since 1970.
