Located in the spectacular landscape of northern British Columbia, UNBC is one of Canada’s best small universities. We have a passion for teaching, discovery, people, the environment, and the North.
University of Northern British Columbia Distance Learning Courses
The modern UNBC story began in January 1987. Three local residents - Tom Steadman, Charles McCaffrey, and Bryson Stone - had been talking about the idea of a northern university and decided to see if their idea had any merit by each inviting 10 people to a meeting on the topic. 40 showed up.

Still early days but happy so far
I haven't been attending too long nor am I active in the school's events/clubs and such but I really like UNBC. UNBC is a pretty small university which makes class sizes smaller and makes getting to know professors/other students much easier. There is a great library as well as a great sports facility. All the staff I've interacted with are helpful and genuine people. I would recommend UNBC if you're looking for a small university~
